Summary
HFW's International Construction Team invites you to a seminar to provide an update on recent changes to common law on the interpretation of insurance contracts and managing construction
risk.
- Insurance: An overview of construction all risks insurance, what can be claimed and the importance that joint insurance preserves rights rather than destroys them.
- Amendments: In a recent judgment, the UK Supreme Court upheld the ability of parties to prevent contracts being amended orally. How free are parties to contract and amend?
- Assignment: An explanation of how to facilitate assignments through the contract drafting process, and the pitfalls that can lead to ineffective assignments.
- Bonds: Bond calls are invariably made at the start of a major dispute. We will provide guidance on how to interpret bonds and guarantees and when it might be possible to prevent a bond call.
